Area meetings are held at various locations within the UK, and their purpose is to enable members to meet and discuss parrots and related topics or listen to talks given by invited speakers. These meetings are arranged by an Area Organiser, and an Assistant Area Organiser.
If you wish to have a group in your region, then contact the PSUK office for help and advice, and nominate a proposed Area Organiser. The request and details will then be put to Council for approval. The more relaxed and informal the organisation the better: when committees are appointed, problems tend to occur! The Area will then be listed with the names and contact details of the organisers published in the The Parrot Society UK Magazine, and on this website.
The Parrot Society UK has undertaken to fund the basic cost of the first meeting to help an Area to start up and Public Liability Insurance for The Parrot Society UK approved Areas is also arranged. Please check with local areas for details of closures during the coronavirus outbreak.
